Entrance functions may use an outside key and inside button, privacy versions are intended for bathroom or similar applications, and passage functions can use a different non-locking arrangement. Match the lock function to the door's actual use.
Door Thickness and Bore Dimensions
The lock body and fixing hardware must suit the door thickness. For new installations, check the required bore and centre dimensions; for replacements, compare the existing holes with the technical template.
Backset and Latch
Backset is the distance from the door edge to the centre of the knob/lock mechanism. It must match the latch assembly. If an adjustable backset is provided, verify the supported range for the specific model.
Handing and Strike Alignment
Some models are universal while others can depend on handing or installation arrangement. The latch should align with the frame strike, and the door should close without binding.
