Contactless card technologies can be used to assign room, date or time-based permissions. The card type, lock, encoder and management software must belong to a compatible system.

Door and Mortise Compatibility

Check door thickness, existing cut-outs, handle axis, mortise dimensions and handing against the technical drawing. New-build and retrofit projects can have different installation requirements.

Battery and Energy Management

For battery-powered locks, confirm battery type, service expectations, low-battery warnings and the emergency power/opening method. Room energy-saving equipment can be separate from the lock itself.

Card Encoding and Validity Periods

Hotel systems can assign credentials for a specific room and time period. Reception workflow, fast card creation and cancellation of lost cards are important operational considerations.

Event Logs and Management
