What is sprayed concrete?

We can divide the setting accelerators for sprayed concrete into three groups: sodium silicates, aluminates, and alkali-free setting accelerators.

Sprayed concrete admixtures are used at rates of 3% to 10% of the cement weight, depending on the cement type and the desired setting and strength values. While setting accelerators have positive effects, they also cause certain reductions in final strength (especially sodium silicates and aluminates). For this reason, the dosage of the setting accelerator is very important and should be as low as possible.

The admixtures in sprayed concrete are generally white or cream-colored and come in powder and liquid form. Their density is 1.1 kg/lt at 20°C.
