A construction loading platform or material handling platform is a jobsite platform used with a tower crane to receive or remove bricks, sand, cement and other heavy construction materials required during structural and finishing works at floor level.
It can also support the transfer of dismantled table-shoring components after floor stripping. Components can be arranged in suitable stacked bundles or on pallets, moved onto the platform and lifted by tower crane to another floor or to ground level.
The platform is not a hydraulic freight lift or scissor lift. It does not move vertically on its own; it provides a floor-level loading and unloading area while vertical transport is carried out by a tower crane or another project-defined lifting system.

What Is a Construction Loading Platform Used For?
The platform provides a projecting floor-level loading and unloading area for heavy construction materials handled by a tower crane.
Where Is a Material Handling Platform Used?
- Moving bricks and similar masonry materials to building floors
- Handling sand, cement and bagged construction materials
- Transferring heavy materials required during structural works
- Supplying heavy materials used during finishing works
- Moving dismantled table-shoring components as stacked bundles or palletized loads between floors
- Controlled tower-crane loading and unloading operations
How Are Dismantled Table-Shoring Components Transferred?
After floor stripping, dismantled table-shoring components can be arranged as suitable stacked bundles or palletized loads. The prepared load is moved onto the loading platform, where a tower crane can pick it up and transfer it to the next floor, another work level or ground level.
How Are Materials Moved to Floors with a Tower Crane?
The loading platform creates a defined loading point at floor level. Suitable loads are lifted by the tower crane and brought to platform level, where they can be moved into the floor. Loads can also be moved from the floor onto the platform and then removed by the tower crane.
Is a Loading Platform the Same as a Freight Lift?
No. A construction loading platform does not travel vertically by itself. It provides a floor-level loading area, while the tower crane or another project-defined lifting system performs the vertical movement.
